Back Pain “Outta the blue”??
HISTORY
1) I had a very long weekend…10 clients in 2 days non-stop back–to-back.
2) Recently started weight training and exercising again after a brief three month hiatus.
Over all my back has been healthy and strong for the past 1 year…UNTIL…yes until you do something and don’t foresee your stupidity of not being careful with your posture while moving something.
I wasn’t moving something heavy, but it was the manner in which I moved it that caused my back to “snap”. Both sides of my low back suddenly felt like I had my finger in an electrical socket. Given the history above I thought this was for sure from a hard-working weekend and that I had simply overused my back muscles.
However I’ve come to this conclusion after hearing from too many clients that “all of a sudden my back went out” These clients have no previous history of back pain, accidents, etc.
Now everyBODY is different…but I must say it is a prolonged tightness and shortening of the low back muscles that suddenly makes low back pain seem to come “outta the blue”.
Now, IF I had been receiving massage all the while which would have maintained my back and body properly by assisting it in lengthening and hydrating the tissue I’m sure I could have avoided the whole situation…so I’ve scheduled one tomorrow for myself!! Thank goodness!!
