Holiday stress relief: Simple at home mini-spa techniques

Ok. So this time of year can get pretty stressful. Here’s a few tips to make sailing into 2006 smooth!

SET THE MOOD
: Create a quiet space for yourself; play relaxing music, light some aromatherapy candles, dim lights and turn off all communication devices!

TAKE A BATH: Using the above as a guide…now it is time for a good long soak. Baths are known to relieve muscle soreness, improve lymphatic flow and encourage deep relaxation. Select an appropriate bath salt or oil to increase effectiveness, e.g. lavender oil for relaxation, or Epsom salts for sore muscles and detoxification.

EXFOLIATE: By gently removing the top layer of dead skin cells, you body will look & feel soft and glowing. Exfoliation also allows proper elimination of toxins through the skin.

MOISTURIZE & MASSAGE: Well this one is easy…CONTACT TAOMASSAGE.
But in a pinch…use some natural body oil or lotion after your bath and use your natural instincts for self massage techniques. Keep in mind moving in a clockwise motion produces calming & relaxing effects. Use long strokes with palms and thumbs up and down long limbs like your legs. Simply tapping (or tapotement) will aid circulation & metabolism while stimulating deep muscles, nerves and tendons.
