to Alternative Therapies and products like massage therapy, vitamins, herbs and supplements
Dear colleagues and friends:
There is an urgent matter taking place that may have serious, long-term effects
on my ability to practice massage therapy and your ability and facility to
receive complementary and alternative care and use of similar products.
On April 30, 2007, the FDA will close the public comment period on a draft
guidance entitled "Complementary and Alternative Medicine Products and
Their Regulation by the Food and Drug Administration." This "guidance"
may lead to the classification of alternative practices and products as medicine.
In that case, only licensed physicians will be able to carry out those procedures.
Vitamins, minerals and herbs will become "untested drugs" and
be forbidden. Oils, lotions, creams and other products and devices used in
a massage or similar "alternative" setting may be subject to FDA
regulation.
Now is the time to take a stand for something you belive in and comment
on this vital issue. Before April 30, 2007, please make your views heard.
The Natural Solutions Foundation has already prepared extensive comments
