Thank goodness TaoMassage is natural and organic. We are antibacterial-free from the soap we wash our linens in to the soap in the bathroom…AND FOR GOOD REASON!!!
We’ve heard for years about triclosan and its damaging effects to our bodies…but the June 2007 Alternative Medicine magazine page 16…there is further reason EXPLAINED as why it is so damaging to our health! I feel moved to write and comment about this as I see people use this stuff incessantly, before they pick up there babies! other massage therapists and “alternative” health care providers “washing their hands” between clients with this stuff…SCARY! If you hands are dirty…they are dirty…ah here’s a solution…WASH THEM! Don’t get a false sense of clean using harmful antibacterial products. Here’s what’s more alarming as noted in the brief article:

Triclosan showing up in half of all commercial soaps, as well as toothpastes, deodorants and shampoos forms CHLOROFORM when it combines with free chlorine and chloramines–the most commonly used disinfectants in drinking water!
Yes you read correctly…CHLOROFORM…the stuff used in the old westerns to knock people out before surgery.
Until the 20th century it was still the anesthetic of choice until it was determined to cause sudden death. More research shows that chloroform in small doses causes dizziness, fatigue, and headache. In higher doses, it’s likely to damage the liver and kidneys — animals that ingested chloroform in studies developed cancer of those organs. Other animal studies have shown chloroform exposure to cause miscarriage, birth defects, and abnormal sperm.
It’s the type of thing that should be kept under lock and key but forms when you run water over your toothbrush.
